Repurpose Plastic Bottles
Our recent visit to St. Thomas was this past December.
While waiting for our tour bus to whisk us off to our designated tour spot,
we wandered through town and came across a park in the center of town.
We noticed red ribbons hanging from the branches and blowing in the wind.
As we walked closer we noticed other items hanging.
They were plastic bottles, tin cans, paper plates and CD discs.
One tree had nylon bags floating special thoughts and prayers messages inside
for family members who were no longer with them during the holiday season.
Prayers and messages were ceremoniously placed after the tree had been decorated.
The churches were made from paper tubes and cardboard boxes.
Groups hand painted each portion of the church according to their own creativity.
The red roofed white gazebo stood in the midst of all of these spirited gifts
created for the blessings of these departed souls.
A simple gesture from children from the ‘Glady’s A. Abraham Elementary School’
touched the hearts of all who stopped to view these loving gifts they’d made.
