Ben Huberman is challenging us, this week, to share your own vision of a container you find interesting. You can take the challenge as literally as you want — a box of chocolates, a broken bottle, your town’s water tank, an empty shell on the beach. Or go in a more figurative direction — from the skin that wraps our body to the comfort of a hug, we all constantly hold and are held by other things and other people.

    • This was the way to keep things fresh and preserved during those times. It makes you
realize how far we’ve come. The baskets were used to carry vegetables from out in the fields.
They were all handmade. I appreciate your visit, Madhu, and comment. Thanks …

    • hahaha … it’s a fairytale besom. It carries all to a land of make believe. 😍
The baskets were handmade. Each one of them was used to carry something from the farm
into the kitchen for their meals. Glad you liked these photos.

    • A great many antiques are being utilized in other ways. It’s a wonderful way to showcase the past.
This one was in impeccable condition. The home is on the historic registry. I hope to show a few more
photos from that day trip soon. There were many unusual things to see and capture with my camera.
Thanks, Tina, for visiting and leaving your insightful comment. πŸ˜ƒ

    • The ice box was handmade by the family who owned the estate. In fact, the owners had made everything that had to do with wood and their homes. It is a beautiful estate that Sarasota, Florida has placed on the historical registry.
It is indeed a work of art.
Glad you like it. Thanks …

    • LOL … you’re so funny, Marina.
If I hadn’t taken the tour of the home I would have thought the same thing.
The guide said these Tyra of brooms were made from hay on the farm. BUT … I like witches broom better.
      Have a GREAT weekend!!!

        • hahaha … I was wondering – is a besom a broom?
I remember buying a broom or besom like the one in the photo once.
I had it as a decoration at my front entrance. A friend – who was a wiccan –
told me I must be a witch as I was drawn it. NO … I liked the handmade design.
Needless to say, I gave it to her. She loved it. I felt eerie after she told me. LOL
          Have a great weekend, Gilly. 😘 ❀ hugs ❀
