Weekly Photo Challenge – Layers
The wonderful thing about beauty is that it has so many layers, the outer one being the least important.

I love artichokes, but they are a pain to prepare! Great photo, and great words to go with it π

It is a tedious process. They are delicious once they’re made. The ones in a jar are pretty good substitutes from time to time. Thanks for visiting and commenting. ~~~~~ : – )

Is that an unripe dragon fruit? It looks a lot like it. It’s a very beautiful subject nonetheless.

We have a fruit here called dragon fruit but it is small and has prickly things on the outside; that one is a fruit. This is a photo of an artichoke. It’s a vegetable. I captured it from further away and slowly made my way to closer shots. Glad you liked it, Sony. Thanks

They really are! What’s your favourite recipe?

I don’t really have a recipe. I mix fresh garlic, bread crumbs and seasoning together with olive oil until it’s a paste. I cut the tips and after rinsing in cold water place the mixture in between the leaves. Steam them and eat. They’re tender and tasty. Do you have any? ~~~~~~~ : – )

Oh, that’s how my father-in-law makes them! Delicious. I make them several different ways: in a pasta, baked in the oven with potatoes, an omelette, my husband eats the stalks, raw!

Mmmm … not sure about eating them raw but I must try it in an omelette.
Thanks ….

I’ve tried them raw and they are too bitter, but the islanders here go crazy for them raw!
